Smart-Hoses are in process applications to prevent stresses due to expansion and contraction, isolate against the transfer of noise and vibration and, of course, provide the internal shutoff system. In addition, Smart-Hose's absorb the continuing movement experienced in hard piping systems because of varying ambient temperatures, differences in temperature of materials being handled, differences in pressure and flow surges and differences in composition. The danger of buckling or pulling apart and resulting maintenance costs are eliminated through the use of Smart-Hoses.  

In the industrial gas industry, Smart-Hoses are used in manifold transfer lines as permanent connections from the filling line to the manifold. The photo below shows these connections where pressure can range from 100 psi up to 2850 psi.
           
     

An example where Smart- Hose has replaced the traditional application of hard piping is in gas appliances. As you know, natural gas customers face a possible safety hazard involving customers' older brass flexible gas connectors and home appliances. Appliance gas connectors are corrugated metal tubes used to connect gas appliances to gas supply lines and are the responsibility of the customer. Some older brass connectors can separate from the tubing and cause a serious gas leak, explosion or fire. In the state of California we have begun to replace these units with the Smart-Hose system linked together over 20' units.

In the LPG area, Smart-Hoses are used extensively for filling carousel. The Filling Carousel is intended for filling LPG cylinders in large groups. It consist a frame with running wheels, rails, a central column for LPG and Air a driving unit the carousel frame around the central column. The hoses used on these pieces of equipment face both a dynamic application as well and varying pressure variances.
                                 
Another example where our hoses are used in process applications is hydraulics. A hydraulic hose is a conductor for a fluid power system.  It is a special hose with several applications and is available in different diameters and pressure ratings.  A hydraulic hose carries hydraulic oil, which is an incompressible fluid.  Either a pump or piston at one end forces the fluid through the hose and the power is transmitted to the piston on the opposite end.

We have had our assemblies used in dry cleaning steam lines to beer transfer process applications. Benjamin Moore paint company uses our hoses extensively for their in process applications to avoid major shutdown due to hose failure. We have provided our hoses to the electronics industry for chemical lines for ultra-high purity water used to rinse silicon chips and high purity oxygen applications.

In sum, our hoses have been used extensively since the hose provides the necessary dynamic motion and our system provides the internal safety.
