The Smart-Hose technology is a proven hose technology designed to counteract the hazardous effect of hose rupture or failure during fluid or gaseous transfer operations. All Smart-Hose designs, Smart-Hose I, Smart-Hose I with breakaway, and Smart-Hose III utilize the unique, patented and patent pending design eliminating the potential for disaster through the use of an internal cable connected to specially designed, normally unseated valve flapper valves or plunger poppets located on each end of the cable.

In the event of hose separation, stretching to the point of an unsafe condition or coupling-to-hose separation the valve flappers or plungers are released and instantly seat stopping the flow in both directions.

What are the Unique Features of a Smart-Hose Assembly?

1. Lifeline hose may contract up to 3% when pressurized to working pressure.

2. Lifeline has a special cable down the boar of the hose. This cable is under compression and will cause the hose to have a wavy appearance.

3. Even though the cable is coated with special smooth low coefficient of friction coating to permit easy slippage, you may hear the cable move when the hose is bent or coiled.
