Smart-Hose has become an international Safety Standard encouraged by all US Federal Agencies responsible for Safety - even the United Kingdom's House of Commons.
Regulations in effect July 1, 1999, impose new requirements on operators of cargo tanks used to transport liquefied compressed gases and new procedures for unloading liquefied compressed gases from cargo tanks. (aka passive device for hose rupture). The new regulations will help prevent unintentional releases during unloading of liquefied compressed gases, assure prompt identification of unintentional releases, and reduce the consequences of unintentional releases.

Compliance Assistance Guide Revised Requirements For Unloading Liquefied Compressed Gases from Cargo Tank Motor Vehicle (49 CFR 173.315)
The Smart-Hose Safety System has received from the US Department of Transportation three Special Permits for Reduced Attendance Requirements - Railcar Loading and Unloading, Cryogenic Vessel Loading and Unloading and Tank Truck Loading and Unloading. In addition, 49 CFR 173.315 requires our technology as part of its "Passive Device Requirement".

Each of the above allows for relaxed attendance requirements during transfer operations and acts like a shield against regulatory penalties in the case of a worker wandering away during loading or unloading operations.
